2010 had some real heavy games drop in the first 3 months. In April things slowed down a bit, but there was Splinter Cell Conviction which was a nice addition to the Sam Fisher saga. The game actually carried a nice co-op component that acted as a prelude to the main single player campaign. The graphics were decent and the game play was nice. This was my second favorite Splinter Cell in the series (Only behind Chaos Theory)

On to May, one of the meatier months for releases this year. Listen to this breakdown of heavy weight titles: Super Mario Galaxy 2, Lost Planet 2, Red Dead Redemption, Alan Wake, and Prince of Persia.
Let's get the best release of the month out of the way...Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar has done it again with a classic western open world sand box game and has shown Activision more importantly has shown
Neversoft how its really done. I really don't have words to describe this game. It has received countless accolades across the web and has been awarded game of the year. Great, great game, and the expansion the Undead version is equally amazing!

Red Dead Redemption
Now just because a game isn't Game of the year doesn't mean it's not fun to play. Whenever a Mario game drops that stars Mario as the main character you need to play it. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is no exception. Great level designs, classic rebooted music, throw in a HUGE planet size Bowser...equals success!

Super Mario Galaxy 2
The original Lost Planet had the luxury of being one of the earliest release titles on 360. So when it arrived people had nothing to compare it to besides PS2 titles and original xbox games. Unfortunately Lost Planet 2 doesn't have the that same blessing. Lost Planet 2 is good enough to be mentioned here a because it's a decent title but not a Great game by any standard. The story is a bit confusing and the fact that the character you control constantly changes from level to level. One cool feature about this title is that for the 360 version you can have Marcus and Dom take on the game. Like I stated Good (fun in fact) but not Great...Lost Planet 2.

Lost Planet 2
There are several things Ubisoft brought with them from the previous generation of gaming, Rainbox Six, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, so you know Prince of Persia couldn't be far behind. No I don't count the cell shaded Prince of Persia...this is a true Prince of Persia for the current generation of gaming. Prince of Persia The forgotten Sands is a nice 3rd Person action adventure title that fits perfectly with the trilogy from our previous cycle of systems. Actually the time line takes place after Sands of time and before The Warrior Within. Check it out!

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
And we finish the Month of May with an exclusive from Microsoft. Alan Wake is a different kind of title. Remember Remedy, the makers of the Max Payne series...well they have been busy crafting a horror suspense shooter for the 360. The visuals for this game are very nice. The atmosphere created in this world is one of suspense for sure. You may not jump a ton, but there are times in this game that will have your heart racing! A nice title to add to your collection, go check out Alan Wake!

Alan Wake
Thanks for reading: up next June 2010!!!
