Well this contest turned out great. I really love all the art coming in. The previous contest results can be viewed here! This is going to be a tough one to judge. Boss battles are a lost art in many games today, and personally I would like to see more of them. Think back to the games of the past and boss battles were the reasons we played games. The journey to get to the boss...many games today need more mini boss and final boss fights...meaningful ones at that. Well, on with the art.
First up is. M. Bison from Street Fighter. M. Bison was a villain and boss baddie from back in the day. He has been replaced by Akuma and Seth as Street fighter top dog's but when Balrog, Vega and Sagat patrolled the streets M. Bison was king. Good luck Blanka, you are going to need it! Run little Mac, Run! This is Lil' Mac Vs Mike Tyson from Mike Tyson's Punch Out. After blowing over Glass Joe, duking it out with the Bear and Soda Pop...countless other big bad guys, and other boxers with 'special techniques'' the biggest test was Tyson. And yes, he was a BEAST! Ahhh yess... I remember this battle from back in the day as well. Samus vs. Crocomire is a classic mini boss battle that was more like a tug of war. You had to push the Crocomire into the pit of lava before it pushed you into a wall of spikes. Just like the illustration you had to shoot the bugger in the mouth to keep her at bay. Clock Tower...Jennifer meets Scissor Man! This game wasn't really about facing the baddie...it was more about escaping his creepiness. Getting chased around by this guy would not be on my list of things to do. I never played the Snes Version, but I did play the Playstation 1 version. This illustration was done by

Nariko versus King Bohan. Where to start on this one. The orchestral music, the battle field of soldiers on the field, his dark wings and lightening bolts that he throws at you...epic all the way. The fact that he was voiced by Andy Serkis was just icing on the cake. Great boss battle! This illustration was done by Mezmacko.
The Tank...from Left 4 Dead. There is even an achievement to unlock by taking down this beast by yourself in Left 4 Dead. You hear the music and you know it's on when this guy shows up. He is one of 5 specials in the game (Tank, Smoker, Hunter, Boomer, and Witch) but none are like this behemoth! Man Vs Tank by

Ruthless, unrelenting...unforgiving...even after death the creature is hell t deal with. (Suicide can't slow him down) Sorry about the spoiler but the game is two years old!) Shepard and crew has his hands full with this battle. This illustration was done by

Another Metroid Battle here. This time Samus Aran takes on Mother Brain! Mother Brain is on a quest to bring order to the universe by resetting everything back to zero. She had a terrible run on Captain N the Game Master (animated series) which portrayed her all wrong...but she is a true final boss. Illustration by

Finally we come to the classic show down in video game lure. Good vs Evil...Mario Vs Bowser. Pitted by fate to hate each other these two have battled on Nitendo gaming platforms since the mid 1980's. I think it is safe to say the battle will continue for many more years. The was done by
