God of War 3: Reclaiming the Title

What do I mean by reclaiming the title?  As far as action games go this game is done simply right.  From start to finish it is amazing.  The pacing is on point and the action never dulls.  By the time I finished the game I was a little saddened by the fact that there were no more astonishing boss fights ahead of me. Oh the boss fights....I refuse to play spoiler (unlike the Official Playstation MAG) those boss fights...every single one of them  will leave your jaw dropped in awe...

As scorpion would say...Get over here!

Yes, God of War 3 has reclaimed a title many games were battling over.  It had been since 2005 that God of War 2 was released.  Since that time there were many third person brawlers.  Many games have since copied the God of War formula as well, even down to the quick time events.  In 2010 alone several games were released by developers in hopes of swaying gamers from the God of War franchise.  All three titles were wisely shipped way before players had the choice of choosing God of War 3 and their new games.

Just one of many to fall by the blades of Kratos...

The first title was Darksiders.  Yes it was a decent game...but God of War 3 worthy I think not.   Even with Joe Madureira in the Creative Director's chair the game can easily be called out for playing copy cat to many of the strengths of God of War.  While the graphics looked decent in January...looking at the March Monster that is Kratos in God of War 3 ....War from Darksiders looks a bit outdated even though his title dropped only a few months ago.  Here is how much of a Kratos fan the Darksiders' team is...its subtitle was originally Wrath of War,

I could take Kratos out...to lunch...

Bayonetta dropped next.  Not officially in the the same category as God of War (the game play was actually closer to Devil May Cry series) The game is flat out fun.  This is one game that I played in which I had no freaking idea what was going on in the story but I played it because it was a hell of a ride.  As fun as this game was. it can't hold much to Kratos's fury.  Bayonetta, yes, you walk and talk a good game...but in Kratos' world you wouldn't last too long.

Yes, her outfit is her hair...don't laugh...the game is actually pretty good.

Then came Dante...visceral in nature (name of the developer actually) bloody, action packed...the controls for the game are straight from the God of War Series...The game was fun and had some great boss fights (a bit too much nudity) Not a bad game by any means...but God of 3 is on a different level.  Now that I think about it...God of War 2 was still a bit better than Dante's Inferno.

I would fight death and the devil before I take on Kratos!

These three titles were not bad games at all, and I am sure they sold well and many people purchased them to fill their lack of Kratos...but now the King has returned and what a journey he has in store for gamers every where!

In game graphics...is there another character model this bad-ass...
