It has been a while since we had an interview with another artist here so it's time to get the ball rolling again! This guy has such a unique style and approach to art it had to be shared! Well enough of me here is Themrock! 
 
I have to start this interview with a where in the world did your style come from! It is addictive to view and and treat to the eyes...utterly unique bro!

It comes from my mind and walks into my hand and then is on the paper. I can only explain it this way.  I avoid reality. Also semi-realistic stuff like Marvel or DC never interested me. I love their works, but it doesn't really inspired me to draw the same way. Raised by Chuck Jones and Video games like Mario Bros.  I developed where I am now.

 

Who are some artist that have influenced you?

Chuck Jones and Doug TenNapel. I was already very 'snobbish' as a kid and watched stuff I selected and stayed away from the trash stuff. But who was not addicted to the Nintendo games of their childhood?   They were good games.  Later Terry Gilliam's movies did the Job to infect my taste senses too.

 

Dead or alive name, 3 people you would love to hang out with and why?

Well I had the pleasure to hang out with Doug TenNapel already in 2005. I ate Mexican food, and he bought me a giant beer.  Then we walked to the Eisner Awards.  Chuck Jones is already dead, so it's too late...  Terry Gilliam is still alive, so I must hurry up. Missed two Berlin visits already. Damn!!

 

What games if any are you playing right now?

I play all Valve games. Left 4 Dead 2 and Team Fortress 2. I also play Paper Mario 1.  I Finally got it on my Nintendo Wii.  But honestly, I don't  have a lot games in my assortiment. Still there is a huge selection of stuff that does not get my attention.  Realistic games and anime art games have it very hard with me.

Well drugs are no motivation source, because I was always very clean in my life. And am thankful for that.
New Anime never really motivates me. I was raised by the 70s anime, like Doraemon, Kum Kum, Capt.Harlock and Queen Millennia.  The japanese Space opera shows inspired me to my SWEFS. And Queen Millennnia formed my taste in female drawings.  Toons: so many. The Looney Tunes are the main source. Chuck Jones!  Films, well... Gilliam, Kurosawa, Polanski, Kubrick, Scott, Coen Bros., Forman, Lean, Hitchcock, Spielberg till 1993, etc.  I must say that movies motivated me a lot more in my childhood than comics or toons.

 

 

What are some dream projects that you would like to work on?

On a Themrog/SWEFS/Bureaucrazy Man/Dayshift at the Pond movie in my style

But away with the dreams.... I would like to work for BlueSky or Pixar. They seem to be one of the few studios who care about quality in entertainment.

This may sound strange...but How would you survive the Zombie apocalypse?
