GamersDigArt | Where Games and Art Meet Where Games and Art Meet!

Meet Alex Solis!!!

You just gotta see his stuff...

Artist Statement:

"Most of my artwork is from imagination and self expression, even though most personal work is done with tradional mediums, I use and incorporate new technology for web development and graphic design. I'm always seeking challenging projects to expand my artistic repertoire."

What was it that got you into art in the first place?

I cant really think of anything specific, Ive been drawing ever since I could pick up a pencil :) so i guess I'm lucky it was something I been doing since I can remember.

Who are some artist that inspire you?

I do a lot of designs on threadless now and there is so many artists from around the world there, I'm inspired by the new ideas people bring to the table and techniques, so its always someone else, not really anyone in specific.

Big picture wise: what would be a dream job for you and your artistic skills?

I would love to sit at home at draw all day, doing what I love to do, and maybe having a successful company based around my own work.

How do you balance being a dad, performing in multiple states, and keeping up with a marriage and art?

Lets just say i don't sleep much, but there is always time for everything, sometimes I tend to put too much time into something but always need to go back and make sure I'm putting my time in what matters most.

You are a talented break dancer as well, have you ever combine both of your skills on a project?

I've done a few pieces inspired by my art, but both usually go hand in hand expressing myself on the dance floor and doing the same on canvas, they're both a way for me to express myself and give myself a small vacation from the real world.

What was the last video game you played?

I was playing "Lost" :p I got really into the tv show and got the game, not the greatest game but it was fun to play since it was based on the tv series that I got really into.

If you could time travel back to 5 years ago...what are some things that you wish you could teach, or tell yourself to prepare for your present?

I would try and do more concepts with my artwork, I think that's one thing that Ive done a lot with threadless it's focus more on having stronger concepts that helps people connect more with my artwork now.

Traditional art is..... (finish the sentence)

The main foundation of my artwork, without it I don't think there would even be digital.

Digital art is .....(finish the sentence)

Another form of art to take the artwork into different elements.

How would you survive a zombie apocalypse.

I would go to a Walmart lock myself in and I think they have pretty much everything you can think of in there haha, wait til they eat each other off or something, or shoot them form the rooftops I have to watch a few more zombie movies to get a few more pointers, but so far Walmart sounds like the best place :P

Thanks Alex!! Very nice work man! Keep it up!
