Meet Vampy!!!

Here at Gamersdigart we have showcased a lot of great visual artist.  We want to open the channels up a bit and add another artist with a great visual flair...for custom design!  Cosplay to be exact!  Meet Linda Le aka Vampy!

Vampy, could you give a brief introduction on what cosplay is and

who you are?

Cosplay is generally just costume play. But for the real Otaku its a passion driven expression for making cosplays that involve dressing up favorite characters from Anime, manga, games, etc. Pretty much a fan world of sorts.

As for who I am, I'm best known as a person that likes to be always creating, and enjoys learning new things, and expressing it through all forms of art. My alter ego is Vampy who is a persona of me, which includes, the love of animals, metal music, cosplaying.

I see the 80's hit you like a ton of bricks.  What is it about the

80's that the 90's and 00's  lack.

Well, the 80s had less technological breakthroughs for  shows at the time, thus making it more involved with imagination for the people creating the shows. There was a sense of rawness in the cartoons, and music videos, as well as wrestling was very much a theatre of awesomeness. The best cartoons were on during the 80's and are still very much a iconic staple in the American market today. 80's Nostalgia will never die because of the new concepts they brought with art and gaming.Thats why I loved the 80s.

Describe an average weekend at a convention show for you.  (Like a

Friday, Saturday, Sunday affair)

Well depending on the convention, I usually am cosplaying a different outfit for each day. I sometimes go to events just in regular clothes to be able to check out with the games without being in cosplays that might be too hard to be comfy in. I really like testing out new concept games and such so it really depends. If its a big convention like Comic con, I'm usually at different spots of the building, doing different cosplays for different companies at varying times of the day. So its quite hectic but I really love meeting everyone, so its fun.

Share your process with us....from start to finish describe how an

outfit is created.  Sketches, layouts, shopping, sewing, etc.

Ha ha you pretty much summed up most of it. I generally already have so many ideas of cosplays because I actually been an avid reader/watcher of anime and manga my whole life. I usually read about 1-2 books a week, or a new art book comes into my hands. So its countless inspirations that come into play. So i generally choose which character that I actually think I'm most like (mentally) and sometimes physically, and I begin talk to my partner who I will be working with during the time about how to go about making the outfit. Sketches or pictures are taken from various authentic sources, and drawn out. I buy all the fabrics and do all the research about materials myself, or with one other person. So it is 100% to my liking or understanding of the character. Over that month or so, careful planning for each piece is made, and of course I ask for help when I need it because some parts are really complex, making mech parts for cosplay aren't taught so a lot of it is trail and error. And there you go ^_^

There are a ton of games that release each year.  With all the

shows and shoots you do how do you keep up with your gaming fixation?

Its actually pretty easy! Im a nutcase when it comes to new games. I'm always keeping up with all the news online which has made it so easy to keep up with things by tabbing sites. I then either order the game, or stop by a game store, and pick it up and play on my breaks.

How well do you play with others (online gaming) do guys treat you

different when they find out your a girl when playing online?

Well when I go online I use my PSN voice changing option on my mic so many times men don't know I'm actually a girl. I like to keep it that way :)

Music fuels creative juices for a lot of us artist.  Why makes

music such a high form of inspiration for so many artist?

Well for me, music bring a certain drive to my work. When I'm down I can put in song and it will totally get me up to working. Metal music brings a lot of creativeness going in my writing and cosplay making because its rather raw and the pace is fast, which in turn gets me to work faster. Without music, I dont think I'll get anything done. :)

Be honest, at the conventions there are some tuuuurrrible outfits

by fans (not the true cosplay models) do you ever give suggestions to

people or hear other professionals give advice to fans?

Well I honestly dont think cosplays are horrible, because its the best they can do, for the means they have. I enjoy all cosplays because some of the "bad" cosplays are sometimes meant to be "horrible" as a joke. But if I could offer any advice to cosplayers, is to not give up! I think I mess up at least 3 times to get something right. So if it doesnt look right, dont accept it, just start over. Also it shows if your work is lazy, and not researched. So going on sites that help on sewing, either it be instructables.com or youtube.com to get your info is a huge step in making a really good cosplay!

How do plan on surviving the coming zombie apocalypse?

Since zombies are only able to die if they are killed by a fatal blow to their "brain" cavity/skull, I would be fully loaded with ammo and several guns on me. Im a small girl so I'd also carry a bat if i run out of ammo, because smashing their brains would be a fun way to end it all, because if I were to die, at least I can have some fun "playing" baseball with their heads before signing out of Earth. :) my answer would finally be:

M2 .50-cal, and a ridiculous amount of AP rounds . Those bullets will tear apart multiple amount of zombies with round. With the adequate amount, I can demolish any groups of zombies in proximity.

Thanks again Vamps!
